CES 2026: Amazon overhauls Fire TV UI with 'clean and fast' redesign

Source: Amazon

Amazon is tackling "streaming fatigue" with a major overhaul of the Fire TV interface, prioritizing speed and visual clarity. By unifying content from across all subscriptions into a single browsing experience and increasing home screen app pins from six to 20, Amazon aims to get viewers into their favourite shows faster than ever.

The update isn't just a facelift; it's a complete technical rebuild. While users will notice modern aesthetics, like rounded corners and updated typography, the underlying code has been optimized to deliver performance gains of 20–30% in navigation speed. Beyond entertainment, a new shortcut panel provides instant access to smart home controls and Ring cameras, while the Alexa+ generative artificial intelligence agent remains integrated throughout to offer personalized recommendations and AI-generated backgrounds.

The new "clean and fast" Fire TV experience is rolling out now to customers as a free software update.
