Google updates Family Link parental controls

Google announced updates to its Family Link parental control service, giving parents more oversight over their children's Android device usage. The most notable change is the replacement of the Highlights tab with a Screen Time tab for quicker access to time management features. Meanwhile, a new School Time option allows parents to restrict app usage during school hours, expanding a feature previously available on some smartwatches.

Family Link also now allows parents to manage their child's contact list, approving or denying new entries. While the service offers content filtering and time limits, it does not allow parents to view emails, messages, or web activity. Children can opt out of Family Link once they turn 13.

Apple is expected to announce a redesigned iPhone SE this week, potentially shaking up its budget-friendly lineup. Rumours point to a website announcement, likely Tuesday or Wednesday morning rather than a full event.

Other rumoured features include a customizable Action button, a single rear camera (possibly upgraded to 48 megapixels), and a USB-C port.
