Report: Apple to commemorate 20 years of iPhone with iPhone 20 launch in 2027

Source: Apple

Apple is reportedly going to break convention and name its 2027 iPhone the iPhone 20, rather than the iPhone 19, as part of the smartphone's 20th anniversary celebration. Research firm Omdia's senior analyst, Heo Moo-yeol, asserted the claim, with reports indicating that the iPhone 20 will be released in the first half of 2027, rather than the usual fall launch. The tech giant will reportedly debut the iPhone 18e and the second-generation version of its rumoured iPhone Fold device.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 20 Air, iPhone 20 Pro, and iPhone 20 Pro Max are expected to be released in the second half of 2027. Another interesting note in the report is that Apple might drop its standard iPhone 18 model in 2026 and focus on its premium models, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone 18 Air, along with the first foldable iPhone.

Report: Apple's rumoured foldable iPad gets delayed

Source: GSMArena

A foldable iPad or Mac was being rumoured to be coming. But we might have to wait a bit more for that, at least according to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu. He claims the larger foldable Apple device will take a while to reach the market, saying Apple delayed its release internally. However, Pu didn't specify how long the delay will be.

Apple's smart home hub is reportedly not coming out in 2025

If you've been waiting for Apple's take on the smart home hub, unfortunately, you'll have to wait one more year or so. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports the device is most likely coming out in 2026. The cause for the delay is Siri. The Apple Intelligence version of the voice assistant has been pushed back so far, so it makes sense that a device that would be heavily reliant on voice would be delayed.
